“My Ram in the Bush” — Trusting God When It Doesn’t Make Sense

Hey Be Courageous, Girls 💖

Let’s talk about faith today.

Have you ever felt like God was asking you to do something that just didn’t make sense? Something that stretched you, challenged you, or even scared you? If so, sis… you're in good company.

In Genesis 22, God asked Abraham to do something unthinkable to sacrifice his promised son, Isaac. I mean, can you imagine? After all the waiting, the prayers, and the hope… God says give it up?

But here’s the part that stirs my spirit:
Abraham obeyed anyway.
He trusted God without seeing the full picture. He took every step in faith, believing that God is who He says He is, and that somehow, some way, God would come through.

And guess what?
God did.
At the very last moment, as Abraham lifted the knife, God said “Stop!”  and provided a ram in the bush for the offering. 🙌🏾

 God provided what Abraham needed… right on time.

That’s the God we serve.
He’s Jehovah Jireh, The Lord Who Provides.

 What About You?

Let me ask you something:

What is God asking you to do right now that doesn’t make sense?
Is He calling you to launch the business?
Walk away from something comfortable?
Say yes to something scary?
Forgive someone you’d rather forget?
Or maybe He’s asking you to wait when you’d rather run?

Sis… I know it’s hard. But can I remind you that obedience unlocks provision? Even when it feels crazy, God already has a ram in the bush waiting on your faith.

 Courageous Girl Challenge:

Activity: “My Ram in the Bush”

1. Take a moment to reflect and journal:

   • What is God asking me to do in this season?

   • What do I need to surrender?

   • What am I believing God to provide in return?

2. Visual Reminder:

   • On a piece of paper, draw a simple line down the middle.

     • On the left, write “My Sacrifice”

     • On the right, write “My Ram”

     • Across the top: Jehovah Jireh — God Will Provide

3. Speak Life Over Yourself:

   • Write this down and declare it daily:
     “I will obey God, even when it doesn’t make sense. I trust that He will provide, just like He did for Abraham.”
